Southeast Asian Fisheries Development Center, Aquaculture Department Institutional Repository (SAIR) is the official digital repository of scholarly and research information of the department. This is to enable the effective dissemination of AQD researchers' in-house and external publications for free and online.
Scopus offers free features to non-subscribed users as Scopus Preview. Researchers use Scopus Preview to assist with research, such as searching for authors and learning more about Scopus content coverage and source metrics. Scopus is an abstract and citation database of peer-reviewed literature including scientific journals, books, and conference proceedings. Scopus provides a comprehensive overview of worldwide research output in the fields of science, technology, medicine, social sciences, and arts and humanities.
The International Association of Aquatic and Marine Science Libraries and Information Centers is an organization of librarians and information professionals involved in all aspects of aquatic and marine sciences and their allied disciplines. The association provides a forum to exchange and explore ideas and issues of mutual concern.

About Us
Our mission is that,the library shall provide an extensive, well-organized, and balanced collection that supports the academic programs of the school; develop and sustain well-trained and competent library staff to promote effective use of the library; and equip its users with life-long learning of using library resources efficiently and effectively.
Goals
- Be organized in such a way as to make access to all the materials manageable for the users; maintained in usable physical condition; and ensure a secure environment for the collection.
- Support faculty research and development.
- Develop computer-based access to information and resources as part of the broadening of the library’s role as an information center.
Services
Library Cards
- Library cards are issued every opening of the semester.
- Library Card is non-transferable.
- Each registered library users must hold a current Library Card, which must be produced on request.
- To secure a library card, the teacher/employee / student should present one (1) latest 1x1 ID picture to the library staff.
Lending/Borrowing of Books/Periodicals
- Students are allowed to borrow 1 book in the textbook section for overnight starting from 3 pm and must be returned the following day before 9:00am.
- Only books with three or more copies shall be allowed for this purpose. However, there should always be one book left for other users in case borrowers fail to return on time.
- The following books shall not be allowed for overnight use.
- General Reference collections such as encyclopedias, dictionaries, handbooks, directories, almanacs, atlases, globes, maps and yearbooks.
- Local and foreign journals, magazines, newspapers.
- Overdue fines: 25 pesos per book
Reference, Graduate (Thesis), Serials and Filipiniana Services
The materials are for inside reading and could be photoduplicated, except for the thesis.
Access to Multimedia Facilities
Free Internet service is available at the Multi-media Section.
Permit to Use Other Libraries
Students who want to use other libraries within Region 10 must first secure a referral slip at the Office of the Campus Librarian for the ALINET form.
Current Awareness Service
New Book/Acquisition List — The library publishes every quarter a list of new books added to the collection. The list is posted in the library bulletin board and FB page.
Book Binding and Lamination
Request slip/form is issued from the library for binding of materials and usage of multimedia facilities.
On-line Public Access Catalog (OPAC)
The On-line Public Access Catalog is an update of the traditional catalog. Bibliographic records of library collection are viewed in the OPAC through the use of a computer terminal. One can search a keyword or subject, author, title, or a combination of author and title, keyword and title, etc.
Policies and Procedure
The following shall be eligible to use the library for reading, research and borrowing thereof:
- Students who are enrolled for the current term/semester (certified by the Registrar).
- All currently employed faculty and staff members upon presentation of ID (certified by the HR).
- Officers (certified by the HR).
- Visitors, parents and alumni should be cleared by the Registrar and should pay a corresponding fee for the use of the library facilities.
The library aims to provide all members of the school community equitable access to information and to information technology using all types of media. Books can immediately be accessed through the LIS (OPAC) and there are provisions for information gathering using the internet:
- All students entering the library must observe proper decorum and should pin their ID while inside the library.
- Sign in at the log book provided before entering the reading area.
- Only MSUN students with library cards are entitled to borrow the resources of the library.
- Lending of library cards is strictly prohibited.
- Silence in the library must be observed at all times.
- The library system is “open shelf”. Student leave their library cards at the Circulation counter. Bags and other things must be deposited at the baggage counter. The librarian is not responsible for any losses outside the library.
- Eating, sleeping, singing, listening to loud music and other disruptive behavior is prohibited in the library. Each student is requested to observe the 5s to help the library neat and orderly.
- Any person leaving the library shall, if called upon to do so by the librarian, present for inspection all books and property being carried out from the library.
- Any noise or activity that disturbs the concentration of other users such as conducting unnecessary conversations, using cellular phones, playing musical devices and other electronic gadgets may not be used inside the library.
- The Librarian may require any person guilty of disorderly or inconsiderate Conduct or of any breach of these policies to leave the library immediately. The librarian may withdraw library privileges from that person for such period as considered fit.
- Serious breaches of these policies by the students shall be reported to the Guidance Office for disciplinary measures.
- No one is allowed to bring bags inside the library.
- Visitors shall pay a corresponding fee and they are not allowed to bring out any library material.
- Library users should observe courtesy at all times. Any act of discourtesy towards the librarians will be duly noted for appropriate action.

- Every borrower must examine the book/s or other reading materials he/she borrows and report immediately to the librarian any damage e. g. torn or missing pages before leaving the library.
- Lost/damaged books or other library materials must be replaced or paid after a month it was reported lost. Out of print books may be replaced with a copy of the same subject or latest edition acceptable to and approved by the librarian.
- Any lost book must be reported immediately so that chargeable fine will not be accumulated.
- Failure to renew or return borrowed library material on due date for students shall be liable to pay a fine calculated on the following scale:
- Books : Php 25.00/day
- Payments shall always be made with the library staff in-charge in the circulation counter.
- Any user who fails to return borrowed library materials will be notified.
- For faculty they are expected to secure clearance every end of semester for Job Order and those who resigns and retires. For the graduating and exiting students, securing a clearance is a must.
- For the MSUN staff, they are expected to secure their clearance during their retirement and resignation.
- The library will not endorse the clearance unless all library accounts are settled.
- E-Library users are required to log- in at the internet usage log-book.
- The use of internet is primarily intended for serious research and study.
- Users can use the internet for 1 hour to give way to other users.
- Computer gaming, internet chatting, and downloading of obscene, libelous and other unlawful materials are strictly prohibited.
- Violators may be denied future access to the internet facility and it could be a ground for their library privileges to be revoked.
- Eating, drinking, chatting is absolutely prohibited inside the E-Library.
- The user should only use the computer assigned to him.
- Faculty members who need to avail the internet services for instructional purposes related to their subject must ask permission from the librarian at least one day in advance.
- Silence must be observed at all times except for orientation or discussion of the faculty.
